Size:
1.0-2.0 in (2.5-5.0 cm)
Distinguishing characters:
A small species with a
prominent dark brown or black eyestripe; variable dorsal coloration of shades of green, tan, reddish, grey, brown or black; dark triangular blotch on head; variable dark blotches or spotting

depending on color phase, which can change dramatically from dark to light in a short time; venter whitish or cream with yellow on undersides of legs and lower abdomen; toe webbing reduced; small toe pads; smooth skin.

Juveniles: Similar to adults, although usually uniform in dorsal coloration.

Dimorphism: Male has yellow throat.

Additional notes: Can occur distant from surface water in a variety of habitats. This treefrog has been captured in amazingly all habitat types in the study area.
